AUTHOR VISITS

I LOVE talking about writing, books, and reading! I'm now scheduling presentations for the 2008-2009 school year.

FROM IDEA TO PICTURE BOOK (with other stuff thrown in) is a presentation targeted to grades 1-5. I discuss the process of publishing from idea to finished book. I use The Impossible Patriotism Project as a guide and also share fun historical events and stories about how some of our patriotic symbols came to be. I like to involve the students as much as possible so groups of 75-100 students per presentation is ideal. I allow a Q&A time after my talk.

A full day includes 4 presentations. I will also do a shorter presentation for kindergarten students if I'm asked nicely! Sessions are about 45-60 min long. A full day is $500.00 unless there's extensive travel involved.

If you'd like to split the cost of a full day of presentations with another school, I'm willing to do 2 morning sessions and scoot to the other school for 2 afternoon sessions.
